Successful 2017 Domotex fair
Estillon looks back on a successful Domotex, Europe’s floor covering trade fair in Hannover.
During these four days, Estillon demonstrated the Floorfixx underlay range, ideal for dry levelling. Flooring professional Jason Roberts also attracted a great deal of attention from visitors, not only by laying Floorfixx system floors, but also by demonstrating underlay stretching. Seamless welding of carpet always attracts many viewers too. Naturally, the Roberts tools were used for this.
In addition to the attention for the demonstrations, the Estillon sales team was able to meet with many existing clients and new prospects. Estillon is also proud of new partnerships with new clients in countries in which Estillon did not yet operate.

As also published on sites including www.vloerenplein.nl, the organisers Deutsche Messe recorded clear growth in both the number of exhibitors and the floor area for the trade fair, as reported in the closing message for Domotex 2017. There was also an increase in the international range of both exhibitors and visitors. ‘Domotex has once again lived up to its reputation as a leading market place for the floor covering industry’, says Dr. Andreas Gruchow of Deutsche Messe. The exhibitors were very pleased with the wide international range of visitors, he commented. At 40,000, the number of visitors was similar to that in 2015, when the biannual Bau trade fair was also held at the same time. This event in Munich has for many years managed to attract away visitors and exhibitors from the world trade fair for floor coverings.
Dr. Andreas Gruchow, a member of the Managing Board of Deutsche Messe AG, and Susanne Schmidhuber, Managing Partner, presented a new concept for Domotex at a press conference; a new layout for the trade fair and the event will be held from Friday to Monday, rather than from Saturday to Tuesday, as at present. They also announced that an annual ‘keynote’ address will be introduced and that more emphasis will be placed on trends and innovations. Domotex in Hannover was held from 12 to 15 January in 2018 and was open daily from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.
